Software Installation Instructions
Welcome to Destination Software®. Please take a moment to review the following additional instructions regarding installation of your software. This supplement should be used in conjunction with the instructions printed on the insert of your Destination Software® package.
To install Destination Software® on a single-computer (standalone) - only this computer will access the data file:
- When prompted to choose a setup type, choose:
- Full: Installs both software and database. For single-machine standalone setup.
- You may choose to select an installation directory other than the default ("Program Files\Planology\Destination Software\")
To install Destination Software® on a network and share your data file among multiple computers:
- First, you will need to install the data file to a computer on the network that will act as your "Server". This computer must be accessible by all other computers that will share the data file. The data file is named "Data2000.mdb" by default. Run the Destination Software® setup program on this computer, and when prompted to choose a setup type, choose:
- Database Only: Installs database only, for network server install.
*You may choose to select an installation directory other than the default ("Program Files\Planology\Destination Software\")
* Note: You should write down the name and location of your data file, for use in step 3.
- Next, you will need to install the front-end software to all computers (up to four per license) on the network that will access the shared data file. Run the Destination Software® setup program on each computer, and when prompted to choose a setup type, choose:
- Software Only: Installs software only, for use on networked computer accessing database on a network server.
- Finally, you will need to perform the following for each computer to which you installed the front-end software in step 2:
- Run Destination Software® by double-clicking the icon on the desktop.
- At the prompt, select "Yes" to locate your data file. You will need to know the network location and name of your data file
(see step 1). Once you have located your data file, click "Select" - Destination Software will do the rest for you.
